ABSTRACT
The term obstetrical palsy was used in 1867 by Duchenne de Boulogne (la paralysie obstetricale) in his book: De l’Electrisation Localisée. He recognized the traumatic origin of the lesion, although some controversy has existed until recentiy. Modern series in which operative explorations have been carried out have confirmed the pathology.
