ABSTRACT
The project that provides the focus for this case study was one of a number of key skills projects awarded funding by the Department for Education and Employment (DfEE). The case study begins with a brief sketch of the ethos of the university. An overview of the purposes and characteristics of the development work of the project are then outlined and the lessons that can been learnt about embedding key skills within a higher education institution of this kind is provided.
