CPD is any process or activity that provides added value to the capability of the professional through the increase in knowledge, skills and personal qualities necessary for the appropriate execution of professional and technical duties. It is a life-long tool that benefits the professional, client, employer, colleagues, professional associations and society as a whole. CPD is a professional responsibility and an appropriate expectation placed on the professional by those likely to benefit from it. CPD is particularly relevant during periods of rapid technological and occupational change.
