ABSTRACT
There is a mass of published navigational information aimed at the professional ship navigator. Mentioned in this chapter are those official and semi-official publications likely to be carried on board the average foreign-going merchant ship. Some are compulsory, others optional. It does not include those publications designed for use on specialized ships or ships on specialized trades, or the abbreviated versions produced to satisfy the requirements of local and pleasure craft, though they may be mentioned in passing.
