ABSTRACT
It is obviously important to determine the client’s reasons for wanting a chimney breast removed. If he requires the ground floor breast to be removed completely from a two storey house, and the chimney stack at roof level is in a poor condition then it will probably be wise to remove the whole chimney from the ground to the roof completely. This may, however, involve some unnecessary work and might indeed even work out costlier than just carrying out the original required job. Of course, greater room would be obtained in one of the first floor bedrooms above, but nevertheless the whole job should be given consideration and thought.
