ABSTRACT

I came to Margot’s class as a team facilitator with great enthusiasm. Having just finished my dissertation on children’s styles during play, my heart was bursting. I had done it! The ethnographic process had worked for me, and I was anxious to spread this gospel. When students began to express their doubts about the ethnographic experience, I would be ready to step in as the all-knowing one. Not exactly humble thinking on my part, but I had not yet reached the point where I realized that qualitative research is a vast and never-ending experience. Once you discover it, you begin to view almost every situation more intensely.
