ABSTRACT
A recent American study reported in Findings (29 November, 1985) observed that female pupils receive considerably less attention from teachers than males. This finding will come as no surprise to British readers-research carried out on this side of the Atlantic has also long indicated that teachers devote more of their time and energy to boys, and tend to focus lessons around their interests.
