ABSTRACT

Education, says Rogers, is facing challenges the response to which will be one of the major factors in determining whether mankind moves forward, or whether man destroys himself on this planet, leaving this earth to those few living things which can withstand atomic destruction and radioactivity. The crisis is represented by a number of questions which he poses:

1 Can education free itself from the past and past goals and prepare individuals and groups to live in a world of accelerating change, if it is possible for human beings to do so?
