ABSTRACT

Telework is an enigma — embraced by some, misunderstood by many. It is a child of the twenty-first century that has had a premature birth. No one is quite sure who or what is driving telework as a concept.

In the USA state and national governments are legislating for it as part of clean air acts and getting commuters off the streets and freeways.

Employers are looking to it as a way to cut costs, boost productivity and trim expensive headquarter staffs.

In-the-know individuals, entrepreneurs and smart companies are using it as a ticket to a new workstyle.

So what does this leave us with?
