ABSTRACT
During the International Year of the Child (1979) many Asian countries began to review their rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. Impetus was added by the International Year of Disabled Persons (1981). Many schemes and projects were started as the Decade of Disabled Persons 1983-1992 was launched (UN CSDHA, 1983a).
