ABSTRACT
My purpose is modest. I simply wish to ask what could conceivably be meant by the shorthand phrase ‘teaching poetry’, and why such an undertaking could be considered to be of more than common importance in education. I shall say a little about knowing and thinking. I may be a little theoretical at times. I ask you to be patient.
