ABSTRACT
We have stressed throughout the book that the humanities can have a role in the teaching of medical ethics but that they are no substitute for knowledge of medical regulations – of basic medical law and of the various booklets on ethics produced by the GMC, BMA and similar bodies. Such booklets instil the wisdom of the profession on a wide variety of ethical issues.
