Implementing Every Child Matters in Extended Schools and Children’s Centres

The government’s ambitions set out in Every Child Matters are aimed at improving the outcomes for all children and young people, including the most disadvantaged, and those with additional needs, by intervening early to prevent things from going wrong in the first place. The philosophy behind the government’s Every Child Matters change for children programme is to protect, nurture and improve the life chances of children and young people, in particular those of vulnerable children.
