ABSTRACT
Teaching assistants are increasingly being required to take more of a lead when supporting children in the classroom. This support might include making decisions about the best way for children to record and communicate their science. Quite often teaching assistants will be supporting children who have difficulties with writing and are easily frustrated when asked to write about their science. Sometimes it is because they know what to say but can’t write it or they find it difficult to explain things.
