ABSTRACT
Teaching assistants are now an integral and important human resource in schools. Over the past few years they have assumed greater responsibilities, having been encouraged to support children and teachers across the curriculum. Many teaching assistants are comfortable supporting children in literacy and mathematics and these are skills that need to be transferred to supporting children in science lessons.
