Everyone says that headship is a lonely job. You can see why. It’s rarely that you can let your hair down and have a moan about a colleague. Of course, you can always go home, throw your bag down, kick the cat and say, ‘I’ll kill that literacy co-ordinator one day, so help me!’ But your partner will very quickly inform you that this isn’t the relationship he/she signed up for.
