ABSTRACT

We have been arguing within this book that part of your role as a tutor is to enable students to move appropriately from surface levels of learning to deeper ones. Part of that movement involves interacting with the material to be learned in order to structure and reorganize it. Audio-visual aids and information technology can be used imaginatively to assist in this process. In this chapter we will discuss their role in teaching and learning, suggest a range of uses and direct you to some which you might like to try out.
