ABSTRACT
The pattern of placentation will depend upon zygosity of the twins and site of blastocyst implantation. The development of the placenta was addressed at the beginning of this manual, and the reader is referred to this chapter, because recollection of the timing of formation of the chorion, amnion, and cord is key to understanding twin (multiple) placentation patterns.
