ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the impact of sirolimus-eluting stent (SES) implantation on the long-term outcomes of patients with acute myocardial infarction. The clinical and angiographic outcomes of this subset of patients have not been examined in any randomized trial to date and the experience derived from the RESEARCH might be an important source of information. For a detailed description of the early safety of SES implantation for patients with acute coronary syndromes, the reader is referred to Chapter 4.
