Head injury

Every year, over one million patients present to Accident & Emergency departments in the UK with head injuries. Around 10% of these are admitted, and over 3000 patients are transferred to neurosurgical centres every year. 60% of head injury patients are adults, of which 70% are male, and 25% have a preceding history of alcohol intake.
