ABSTRACT

Guidelines Recognizing the need for advice on management, two consensus panels (UK and US) have produced similar guidelines dividing risk into three practical categories with management recommendations.2,20 The UK consensus guidelines have recently been updated (Table 5.1).2 It is recommended that all men with ED should undergo a full medical assessment (Appendix 2). Baseline physical activity needs to be established and cardiovascular risk graded low, intermediate or high. Most patients with low or intermediate cardiac risk can have their ED managed in the outpatient or primary care setting.
