ABSTRACT

There are many different models of memory clinics around the world. The setup and the operating of a memory clinic depend mainly on the aims of the clinic. Some memory clinics are purely a research facility and some mainly provide a clinical service, but the majority have a dual potential. There is also a great variation in the extent of the clinical service. A memory clinic service can consist of a diagnostic assessment and a feedback session only, or it can provide ongoing management. This chapter discusses the practicalities of setting up a memory clinic for which the main aim is to provide a clinical service while also encouraging training and research.
