ABSTRACT
Recent advances in stem cell biology have ignited enthusiastic expectations of healing central nervous system (CNS) diseases by transplantation of regenerating cells and genes. In this chapter I shall review briefly the potential application of stem cell transplantation in neurological patients, with special reference to demyelinating disorders, and mention some problematic issues that still face this therapeutic approach.
