ABSTRACT
As with muscle weakness, there are no data from general practice studies as to the frequency with which patients present with either numbness or paraesthesiae. Both of these symptoms are often more nebulous complaints than weakness, with a correspondingly higher representation among the undiagnosed patients (30 per cent of that total if limb pain is included).
