ABSTRACT
Both demonic oppression and possession require a certain level of personal accountability. Both the abused and the abuser must take responsibility for their part in the cycle of violence within the relationship. Ultimately God fights the spiritual battles we face, but we must be “team players” or the battle is futile. We must not slump down in defeated surrender, but must stand tall and unafraid. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, “God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” These are all very strong characteristics that God gives us, and He expects us to use them.
