ABSTRACT

There is no consistent use of the term 'work-family best practice' except that it typically relates to a documented strategy an organization uses to help manage the work and family demands of its workforce. In addition, the fact that something is categorized as a best practice means that in some way the documented strategy has revealed successes, ideally both for the organization and its employees. Thus, in the present chapter, the term 'work-family best practice' refers to documented successful strategies employed by organizations in an effort to assist employees with effective management of work and family demands. These successful strategies result in beneficial outcomes for both the organization and the employees.
