ABSTRACT
This chapter commences with a brief review of some of the clearer studies that have attempted to localize functions in selective attention, all of which look at the visual domain. Then studies that have looked at particular conditions will be surveyed, including Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, and head injury. Finally, the phenomenon of unilateral neglect will be outlined and the theories put forward to account for it discussed.
