ABSTRACT

The chapter describes a client whose aphasia may be considered "mild" in terms of impairment. This type of client may raise issues for the therapist in terms of prioritisation. Perhaps the client with mild impairment is at risk of being neglected within a context of scarce therapy resources for people with acquired communication disability. What factors determine prioritisation? How have prioritisation decisions been affected by the increased recognition of our role in terms of addressing with the person the real-life consequences of aphasia, regardless of severity of impairment?
