ABSTRACT
Hysteroscopy, being essentially an extension of the older D & C, is associated with the same hazards. As has already been pointed out, the fact that the hysteroscope itself is both straight and rigid makes it somewhat more difficult to follow the normal curve of the cervical canal and uterine cavity. Extra care must therefore be taken if perforation of the uterine wall is to be avoided.
