ABSTRACT

Other socio-economic data, such as transport infrastructure, is available through organisations such as the European Environment Agency (EEA). The EEA website (EEA 2004) provides fact sheets that include graphs, statistics and analysis on the capacity of transport infrastructure networks in the EU and accession countries. Datasets detailing the number of cars, two-wheeled vehicles and ships within the EU is also provided by the EEA. Infrastructure data is also available from the Energy and Transport directorates of the European Commission. This data is free to access and is displayed as tables on the EUROPA website (EUROPA 2004).
