ABSTRACT

The analysis of IVUS RF-data is currently undergoing clinical evaluation. A diagram of the overall acquisition system, including the IVUS console and the patient table is shown in Figure 18.6. The ECG-gated RF acquisition system consists of a Pentium computer and a custom-designed ECG-gating box.The PC houses two analog-to-digital converter (ADC) cards, one operating at a sampling frequency of 125 MHz (Gage 8500; Gage Applied, Inc., Montreal, Quebec, Canada) to acquire the IVUS RF-signals, and one sampling at 2.5 KHz (IOTech card, ADAC5500MF, IOTech, Inc., Cleveland, Ohio) per channel to acquire the ECG and trigger signals. These cards are controlled by custom designed software called IVUSLab.
