ABSTRACT

This desktop system (Table 6.1: Witschi, Porter, Vogel, Buxbaum, Stare, & Slack, 1976) had 375 questions and explanations in an interview about diet history, food intake on a usual day, diet and menu planner. It suggested how to lessen caloric intake, control eating, and increase activity. It gave calorie tabulations for each food reported, each meal, and the total day. It helped users plan meal-by-meal menus for one or more days within the recommended caloric range (1200±1700 kcals per day).
