ABSTRACT
The example was given in Chapter 19 that researchers wished to investigate the relationship between the length of time students had studied psychology and the degree to which they believed that psychology is a science. Eleven psychology students were asked how long they had studied psychology and were asked to rate, on a five-point scale, ranging from 1 = not at all to 5 = definitely a science, their beliefs about whether psychology is a science.
