ABSTRACT

To help substantiate your efforts, Appendix A describes two evaluation studies of The Men’s Program. The first shows that men who see this program experience a 50 percent drop in rapemyth acceptance, and that two months later this drop remains significantly lower (p <.001) than their pretest levels. The second study describes how men who see this program experience a significant drop in rape-myth acceptance and a significant drop in their reported likelihood of rapingeffects that last for at least an entire seven-month academic year. This same study provides qualitative data supporting the program’s efficacy. Having all of this information will help you and your presenters to know they truly are making a difference. In addition, you can use this research with funding and decision-making authorities on your campus or in your organization to justify the use of The Men’s Program. This appendix also describes a study showing that The Men’s Program has no effect on audience members’ homophobic attitudes.
