ABSTRACT
In exploring how AIDS is experienced and confronted in Kanyama, an urban neighbourhood in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka; this chapter addresses a set of interrelated factors: a plurality of cultural backgrounds of residents; proximity to government, donor and NGO resources; deep poverty; and high levels of HIV vulnerability. With reference to these it considers two major issues.
