ABSTRACT

This chapter offers you an opportunity to assess how well you are healing. It would be great if your self-esteem, emotional well-being, and relationships with others all bounced right back, but that doesn’t usually happen. You will have good days and bad days; good weeks and bad weeks; good times and bad times. This doesn’t mean that you are doing something wrong or you’re a “slow healer”: It’s normal. All survivors heal at their own individual pace. No one heals overnight; no one. Let’s look more closely at the process of healing from an abusive relationship.
