ABSTRACT

Art is perhaps one of the few universal languages that all human beings share and understand. This understanding and affinity are essential if change, transformation and healing of oneself and society are to begin. Although a universal language, art can still honour and respect local cultures and can tolerate and hold differences of perspectives; although we human beings may have a lot in common, we still have our differences. In spite of our great achievements in science, technology and industry, we are incapable of dealing with the great evils that endanger our very existence, such as war, colonization, slavery, poverty and, most importantly, ignorance.
