ABSTRACT
We are fortunate in the UK that we do not yet have quite such a culture of litigation, enthusiastically aided and abetted by lawyers, that pervades the United States. However, the situation is changing and we are fast catching up – as can be seen from TV advertisements for “No win, no fee” claims and, “Where there’s blame, there may be a claim” etc. (what these advertisements do not say is what proportion of any payout is taken by the lawyers and others!).
