ABSTRACT

There is an excitement about walking into a school where you have never been. As you enter the school lobby, you view the students’ triumphs and victories behind glass showcases; walking farther down the corridor, you are surrounded by large bulletin boards displaying the children’s work, their art, stories, and projects. Indeed, you have gained entrance into the world of school where the story only begins to unfold. It is, however, not until you go beyond the walls of the classroom that the most profound narratives are told through the lives of the children who interact together within their social worlds.
