‘Everything is ripe’

In many places practices such as artists working in hospitals, teachers using the arts with children, or occupational therapists and psychiatrists using arts activities within their work were developing during the early and middle twentieth century. This had occurred for many years in many different countries, from the Bellevue Hospital in Jamaica (Hickling, 1989) to India (Jones, 1996).
