ABSTRACT

Cases described in this chapter were selected to present a cross-section view of the child-centered approach to play therapy. The sentence structure and language used in the sessions has been left exactly as the children expressed themselves to provide a realistic picture of what the sessions were like. Before presenting these three cases, a summary review of the child-centered approach to play therapy seems to be in order to make clear the purpose of the therapist’s behavior in facilitating an accepting emotional climate.
