ABSTRACT

This final chapter has three parts. First, there is a brief summary of our principal findings based on previous research and the new data presented here. In the second section we offer some observations on the evidence concerning gender difference and similarity, commenting in particular on what we see as significant patterns and possible educational connections. Finally, we consider implications for assessment, especially regarding several complex fairness issues. None of these issues invite simple solutions, but all we believe, are amenable to improvement.
