ABSTRACT
Linguistics.—A semantic network is a knowledge representation structure in the form of a graph with nodes (→REPRESENTATION). The nodes correspond to objects, concepts, or events (→CONCEPT, OBJECT). They are connected to each other by arcs, which specify the relationships between them. This type of graph is finite, oriented, labeled, usually connected, and cyclical.
