ABSTRACT
An organization’s R&D management cannot be divorced from its general management; on the other hand, the use of the same management techniques and programs that are successful in general management more often than not will not be appropriate for R&D management. Nevertheless, the universal principle of “system thinking” can be adapted and applied to R&D in industry, government, or academia, and is central to the approach for R&D management.
