ABSTRACT
As discussed in Chapter 1, the current state of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) has evolved in lock step with the evolution of technology from the earliest bills of material processor (BOMP) to integrated enterprise management. Similar to how a tree grows with the addition of rings, enterprise management systems have also grown with additional features and functionality, each building on what already existed (Figure 6.1).
