ABSTRACT

Though I am not sure Holy Mother Church intended, she taught me being gay was all right. Catholicism informed me that I had history as a gay person. The religion of my childhood led me to a revered literary canon to which all gay writers are inheritors. The Church taught me that males could live together in a loving and intellectually vibrant community.
