ABSTRACT
What important or useful methodological insights might be gleaned from examining the issue of substance abuse, especially illicit drug use, among gay and bisexual men in relation to HIV? This chapter will discuss important aspects of this research, and convey an understanding of some of the challenges that exist when conducting research on this particular population. It also suggests why it is important to study this population from a social work policy perspective.
