ABSTRACT
In this chapter I would like to share with you the findings of the participatory research project I described in the previous chapter. Brief sketches of each of the five participating parents are included so that you can come to know them and appreciate their stories and insights. The words of the parents are so rich, insightful, and brilliant that I did only minimal editing. Get to know these participants and listen to their stories. I hope their words will inspire you to reach out to the parents of your students in a similar way. As teachers take the time to know the families of the students with whom they work, the possibility for mutual respect and partnership grows.
