Martha Lavey has been artistic director of Chicago’s award-winning Steppenwolf Theatre Company since 1995 and an ensemble member since 1993. Founded in 1976, Steppenwolf is one of America’s longest lived and most celebrated theatre companies. She gave this interview in the spring of 2003.
