ABSTRACT

Because we can’t include a DVD with this book, we have done the next best thing and noted down all the reactions that went on between Al Pacino and Robert De Niro during the first time in film history they played a scene together. It is in Michael Mann’s Heat, with Pacino and De Niro playing a detective and a crook, respectively, and this is also the first time these characters have met in the film. The following is an analysis of the beginning of the scene, and we have noted down how long it was before each spoke—and an approximate description of what reactions they did before speaking. PACINO
